That's good that Dixie won their game! What was the score??? This week

wasn't too exciting but it was pretty fun!! Today were going shopping

at one of the really big markets! It's going to be sweet I'm excited I

haven't been there for like 7 months probably haha!! So I'll tell you

about our week really fast!! Tuesday after we emailed we went and got

my visa renewed so now I can live in Korea until next august!! haha

and then after that we went to this way good buffet(it was my year in

country mark) so we decided we had to go big!! That was way fun! Right

after that we met an investigator! Kim Jae Deok.  I

think I told you about him!! We taught him a good lesson about baptism

and he accepted an invitation to be baptized! We are thinking it will

happen next week! I couldn't think of a better way to spend my year in

country mark!! Haha Wednesday we had district meeting, it was really

really good!! Afterwards we went and ate this stuff called 돈까스 it's

this fried pork stuff, it's way good! But the reason we went to this

place is cause they have a contest with this super super spicy one and

if you can eat it within 10 minutes you get six months free! haha we

only tried a sample of it! I was ok, it was super super hot I couldn't

have eaten anymore, but some of the Elders were dying haha it was

hilarious!! then like two days later we were at a restaurant we eat at

often and we walked in and Elder Vanhoff went to the bathroom so I

ordered for us and I ordered it spicy! haha they made it super super

hot and I thought Elder Van Hoff was going to die! We got the funniest

video ever! I wish I could send it to you it is priceless!! On

Thursday I went on splits. I got to go back to my 2nd area! It was

super fun. We met a member that had like a 3 month old baby when I was

first there and now he is like 15 months old so it was super weird to

see him again haha!! It made me realize I've lived in Korea for a

while now! I was on splits with Elder Park. He is Korean! It was

really fun. They talk a lot of English because all the Koreans have

young American companions that aren't that good at Korean yet so we

talked Korean the entire time! It was fun! I loved it. Saturday we

went and played basketball with some people, some old guy volunteered

to ref our game haha it was super funny.. We killed the people we

played of course! haha they are Korean. And afterwards the guy the

reffed came up to me and was complimenting me and stuff and gave me

his business card and told me to come play with their club haha he was

a coach of some place it was super funny.. Church was awesome.

Yesterday, we had a new investigator there with us! Ha he was in the

hospital kinda close to the church and we met him in there on Friday,

in Korea you can just leave the hospital and come back whenever you

want so on Sunday he came to church for a while then went back to the

hospital haha it was funny! (Korea has nationalized health care so

it's not expensive to stay in the hospital, so people just check in

and stay for a way long time when they are hurt! ha they will go

outside with their hospital clothes on and walk around everywhere.

Sometimes you even see someone walking around pulling an IV stand

behind them with the IV stuck in their arm ha it's pretty crazy!! This

week is the last week of the transfer! I can't believe how fast it has

gone by!! We’re hoping we get to stay together for 3 transfers!! So

pray for us! Haha we are so happy still!! I hope you all have a great

week!! The gospel true! Right now I am going back through some of the

old conferences and reviewing the talks! They are so good. I love

reading anything that the apostles or prophet has written. We can all

benefit so much from it!!

Hello everyone!
This week in Seoul was great! Today I have lived in Korea for 1 year! I can't believe it! It has been a good time for me to really reflect on the past year and see how much I have grown! (as a missionary, the korean language, and as a person) I'm so grateful to be here serving the Lord at this point in my life and I'm looking forward to all that I will continue to learn throughout the rest of  my mission!! Tuesday was temple day! I love the temple so much! I love being in the Lords house and being able to receive personal revelation there! When I got into the Celestial room, President Lee was standing there and came up to me and shook my hand and said "Welcome"......"to the celestial Kingdom" in English haha it was soooo funny you have to know President Lee to understand though I think! He is always super happy and has a huge smile on his face! I love him so much. After the temple we went to the military base with Elder Pulsipher and ate lunch! After that we found a GNC and I bought some stuff there!! it was soo good to see the inside of a GNC again haah that is a site that I missed way too much! haha now I am trying to gain weight! It's really hard but I'm eating as much as I can all the time so hopefully it will work! Korean food isn't exactly weight gaining food! Anyways after that me and Elder Vanhoff went to the Korean War History Museum and checked that out! It was awesome we had a lot of fun! Wednesday we had district meeting and then we went on splits! I was with a greenie named Elder Ward! he is really cool! We had a lot of fun. It made me feel like a really old missionary cause he will go home a full year after me! I couldn't believe it I still feel like I'm a young missionary! But we got to help a member move so that was super fun! then we had English class and that was good too! on Thursday we went to dinner with Daniel for the last time! he left for America on Friday! He is in California.. we are like best friends. haha we got a call from him at 7 in the morning on Sunday from him telling us that he had just landed! He was so excited. It is his life dream to become an American citizen. haha you might get to meet him sometime! that was really hard to say goodbye to him I'm going to miss him a lot. We saw him at least 4 times a week and he helped us all the time. Also that night we met a new investigator as well! he decided he's not going to study with us anymore already but that's ok! Friday we met our recent convert that we baptized last transfer, he is doing really good. I love him! also, we went and visited a member we call "Kobe" he played basketball with us in the morning which we haven't been able to do for a long time now, partly because Kobe had to get surgery on his ankle! his achilles tendon was like 90% of the way ripped so it will take him like 28 weeks to recover! crazy long time!!! Sunday was really good! we had 3 investigators at church! one of them was a new investigator! he is also i midgit! ha he is way funny though he will be a good investigator i think!! haha oh i forgot something on Saturday we were proselyting and we walked by this claw machine game and I looked to see what was in it, it was stocked full of live lobster in a tub of water!! it was the funniest thing I have ever seen! so I had to play it and on my last try I pulled one out and it dropped it and got stuck on the edge then eventually fell back into the water! ha I was so mad.. it was hilarious though! also we helped these two ladies carry this huge thing of cucumbers across a bridge haha it was super fun! Koreans never want to let you help them so I just walked up to them and said hey I'll carry that! they were both like no were good don't worry so then I just took it from them haha it was super funny but they were really greatful because they were dying haha! yesterday to celebrate we all got together and went to a buffet and then played basketball it was super fun!! Well I hope everyone has a good week I love you all!!

Zone Conference

P Day

Seoul Forest

Ok mom here is this week! It was a pretty good week, we were really busy that is for sure!! Monday was p-day we went bowling it was really fun! I will try to send you a couple of pictures of it! Then after we had family night and we played Uno! haha the Koreans had so many rules it was so crazy.. it made it super hard but really fun! On Tuesday we went up by me greenie area for zone leaders council! It was really good. I love any opportunity to be around President and get to hear him train us directly on what the mission needs! He is so awesome. That was a really good meeting! Then on Wednesday we had district meeting with the whole zone so we did the training! It went really good! It was on opening your mouth and becoming a "preach my gospel" missionary! It was really good for our zone! Then afterwards we went on splits! I went with Elder Taylor! He is awesome. He is from Wyoming I think I told you about him when I was in Gimpo.. But we had a great split! He is a really good missionary we saw a lot of really good stuff ! We tried to eat this soup that a member told me to try and we got there and ordered it and it was suppose to have potatoes in it and we get like this random soup with a backbone in it haha it was really funny! But the soup was really good! On Thursday we split back and then we planned for the conference for Friday! We went to Seoul forest with half of the mission and had an awesome conference there!! We did activities that involved companionship unity and related a bunch of ways to missionary work. But most of all it helped me to really remember the atonement and the sacrifice that Christ made for me. And for all of us! I love the gospel so much I'm so grateful for all of the knowledge I have been able to acquire while I've been on my mission and I’m so glad that I still have as long as I do to continue to further my knowledge and become a better person and a better missionary! I love doing this work it's so rewarding! At the end of the conference we all wrote a note to ourselves for the end of our mission that we will read when we go home! We all chose one thing we were going to give up for the rest of our missions to become better missionaries! I chose to give up all doubts! It's really easy to doubt things, especially in missionary work so I promised the Lord I wouldn't doubt anymore for the rest of my mission. It has been awesome!! We came back on Friday from the conference and we were talking to people on the street and we found this really cool guy! We took him to the church and sat down and taught him the restoration! It was a really big miracle. That doesn't happen very often that someone will just come with you to the church and sit down and listen to you for an hour! He is great!! Then later that night we had a birthday party for one of the girls in our ward! We had an investigator and some less actives there too!! They are so awesome they all just want to help us.. I made a cake for her and used some of the icing you sent me and made those apples that the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory makes and gave them to her! Everyone was so shocked haha they had never seen anything like them before haha it was funny! On Saturday we met two now investigators! They are super funny. We were talking to them and one of them told me that I look like Prince Charles! haha it was super funny I was laughing so hard! I don't even know what he looks like but ya so I got Prince Charles and a Greek God within the last two weeks haha I told you about that one right? It was way funny!! That pretty much sums up my week! It is still super humid here! But that’s ok just another month and it will start to cool down!! :) I can't believe that school starts again in a week! When is Zack’s first football game?

I love you all!! Love,

Elder Frei

View From Chase's Apartment

Chase's new shape up shoes! :)

Elder VanHoff & Elder Frei

Mom!!! I almost forgot to write you this email because you weren't home and I'm used to you responding haha sorry!!! It might be a little short because now I'm in a little bit of a hurry but I will make it really good!!! This week was awesome! We have been seeing so many miracles!!! So we have this member that is moving to America in like two weeks! I love him. His English name is Daniel!! We helped him do a bunch of stuff because with his paper work and stuff so his mom wanted to take us out to dinner to thank us!! So they took us to this really good buffet!! He is the only one in his family that is a member! And his sister came too because she wanted to meet us!!!! So, now we are teaching his sister!! She is way funny. I'm going to miss Daniel when he leaves. It has been way fun to get to know him we have had a blast he is the funniest kid ever! He's super smart too! He's only 17, he dropped out of high school and took the GED test and averaged a 4.0 he's going to college two years early haha crazy huh? So that has been super fun! Also we are meeting another guy whose English name is Aaron! We had one of the most spiritual meetings ever last night! It was so awesome! He is going to get baptized! Probably this month! We had 2 members teaching with us and all together it was a super spiritual lesson!~ he really wants to follow Christ and learn about his gospel he has the best desire that any of my investigators have ever had probably! It was so awesome! It's been super, super, super humid this past week and has rained just about every day! It reminds me of when I got here last year.. which is ironic because I'll have been in Korea for 1 year in two weeks! I can't believe that. It feels like yesterday still.. time is crazy. Other than that we had a pretty normal week just visiting a lot of members and getting to know them!! It's been awesome I love this ward so much they are so great! We visited a member of the stake president last night and his son gets home from his mission this week! He was really excited haha he likes me a lot! He asked me to pray for their family at the end and then when I got done he was just super impressed and looked at me and said your not like other missionaries! It was a really cool experience it made me feel like I was doing a good job! I have to go! I promise next week will be super long! We have a really busy week so I will have a lot to write about! I love you! Have a great week!

Transfer calls are tonight!! We are hoping we stay!! I think we will! Good chance for sure!! It looks like the trip was way fun I'm glad you had fun!! Maybe we will have to do it again when I get home I've never even got to see Stacie and Al's place yet!! I want to! Sounds like a lot of driving though that part doesn't sound very fun at all.. Today I think we are going to play soccer for p day with all the missionaries in the zone! We’re going to Costco to eat after this then we will go over there! Ok I answered all of your questions! And I'll send pictures with this email :)
This week was another awesome week!! We did so much!! And it was so fun!! Temple day was great as usual! After the temple session we went to a sushi place! I love seafood now. Especially seafood! Weird huh? I hated it before I left.. Now I always want to eat it!! haha then after that we went to the National Museum of Korea! It was really cool Korea has such a long history!! The museum was really nice and big! I'll send some pictures from it! On Wednesday we met two of our investigators they are really funny to teach, they are both in college and super shy they don't talk a lot so it makes it kinda hard and awkward it's so funny! Then we had English class and that's always fun! We also had specialized training wed and thur. It was really good! I learned a lot! Thursday was also Elde Vanhoffs year mark as a missionary so we went out to dinner at this super good place (they have really good kimchee) haha then after that we went bowling with some of the single adults in our ward!! It was way fun! We played me and Elder Vanhoff against the 3 of them and the losers had to buy lunch! haha I bowled horrible cause the lanes in Korea are crappy but Vanhoff did way good so we won and they are going to take us to eat tomorrow I think haha it was super funny! Then on Friday a member from the English branch took us out to dinner! They are really awesome! Brother and sister Pinnegar! He is a pilot in the army! I told him that Hunter would love him! He is really funny! So that was really fun to just talk and get to know them and stuff!! Then on Saturday we went to a wedding! The girl is in our ward and the husband isn't a member yet but he will be getting baptized pretty soon I think, so that will be way good!! Korean weddings are way different than America! It was a really fun experience! They do them at this big wedding hall and they do it way fast because there are a bunch of weddings on the same day then you just go next door to this way huge buffet and eat haha it was way fun! Church was really good yesterday! Our bishop is going to America today for 3 weeks! His family has been over there for a while but now he's going for work and then vacation! It will be weird with him gone! He gave us some good advice though!! So we’re really excited to do the things he said!! Well I hope everyone has a great week I love you all!

July 10th
Hey everyone, This past week was amazing like usual!! On Monday we went shopping! I bought a new pair of shoes! They are dress shoes but not just any dress shoes! Ha I got shape ups! They are the best! Ha except for they are like 2 sizes small cause they don't carry my size in Korea!! But they are suppose to be really good for your back. I have already noticed a difference it's been really good! And my legs are always sore from them haha they are so funny looking I love it! Then we had family home evening and that was really good too!! Our ward is the best here. On Tuesday we had a zone leader training! It was really good! The best part about being a zone leader is that you get to be with President a lot more! I love it. I love learning from him he is such a smart person. Then on Wednesday we had a really funny meeting with one of our investigators, we were just talking and Koreans are really blunt and just speak their mind. On Thursday we ate dinner with a member and the two members that added you on facebook! They are super awesome!! It was way fun. We also had one of our investigators there with us! We had some pretty funny conversations about dating and random stuff like that! It's fun to be able to do stuff like that in Korean it's really weird sometimes when you think about it! On Friday we had another meal with a member as well! Her name is Sammy! She is super good at English because she went to BYU for a while and served a mission. She is awesome. She works with our Bishop! So it was way fun to get to know her and talk and stuff! Lately I have realized how much spiritual power you have as a missionary. Everyone looks to us when they need help with stuff or want to be uplifted or anything like that! ha I will talk about that later, on Saturday there was a big basketball tournament at our building and our Bishop had as ref a little bit, then after that him and Cedric(he is way awesome we play basketball with him in the mornings)_ took us on the base for lunch! It was so good! I ate at Burger King I couldn't believe how big the cups were and just everything! Haha so weird!!!!!!!! on Sunday we were at church and the meeting was about to start and the 1st counselor comes up to me and was just like hey one of the speakers didn't show up and were going to have you give a talk! Haha I had nothing prepared on to talk about or anything so I was kinda nervous! Then he came back and said Elder Vanhoff was going to give one too! Then I felt ok haha we both pulled off like 12 minute talks! It was crazy haha I don't know how we did it but we did and everyone said that they like it! I talked about prayer and used 3 Nephi 18 a lot! It was crazy! It just goes to show you how much the spirit can guide a talk! I had no idea what I was going to talk about at all when I walked up to the stand I just looked at the first counselor and shook my head at him because he is way funny then got up there and was just like "he just told me 10 minutes ago that I was giving a talk, I didn't have any time to prepare this, so don't expect a lot haha it was funny! This week we are super busy we have a two day training and temple day is tomorrow! I'm really excited for it, it should be awesome!!! Well I love you all and hope you all have a great week! Hope your having a great summer!!

Facebook message from Min-Jung Lee.

o Hello, I,m Min-Jung. Your son is our missionary. He gave to me your facebook address.^^ Elder Frei is very kind and beautiful missionary. I want to share one story. We went to visit old lady house. She got to break her knee so she can't come to the church. Also Her husband die February. She was very sad . Elder Frei and Van Hoff bless to her .Elder Frei shared the message with her. we had really glad time. Sorry. I can't explain in English well. But I just want to say .. Your son is wonderful missionary.^^

Hey Mom,

Ha the Rosetta Stone Spanish made me think of something that happened to us this week! Ha we found a new investigator and he wants us to teach him English! Well he doesn't really know anything at all so we started with the alphabet. They all learn English in school but he didn't really remember anything.. ha the sounds F,V, and Z are not in the Korean language at all! So trying to teach them to Koreans is funny.  He wants to learn English because his daughters both study it and they ask him questions all the time and of course he can't answer them! haha so that was pretty funny! He is a way nice person though he will be a good investigator I think!! haha mom check your facebook! Two girls from my ward added you and sent you messages on facebook! They are both super awesome! They both served missions so they are way good at English too!! ha last week at family home evening I told one of them she could stay at our house if she ever came to America, she came to church on Sunday and told me she is going to come next July! I'm sure you will be ok with that! You should get to know them they are both super nice people! haha they are older but both still aren't married though.. that's not weird in Korea though haha.. I told her you would love having her stay at our house for a while. She said I am welcome to stay at her house whenever I come back to Korea too! My ward is awesome I love them all so much!! After church yesterday a few of them came with us and showed us where some members lived so we could visit them in the future and helped us get to know them! It was super, super helpful I was really grateful for them! We went on splits twice this last week, it was really fun! One day Elder Gatlin came to my area. He was in the MTC with me he is one of my best friends in the mission! So that was super fun.. then I went to another area with Elder Decker you don't know him, but he is cool too! haha he can do the rubix cube in like 12 seconds so that was pretty cool to see! We always see the coolest things on splits! We are the ones training other missionaries when we do it but I always feel like I learn the most!! On Thursday we had President interviews! I love president so much. I feel like I've gotten to know him a lot better! I get to see him way more often now it's so awesome! I love being around him! He is always so happy! Ha every time I talk with him I feel like I have a spring in my step afterwards! I'm glad I will have him my whole mission! He will end right when I go home!! I'm sure you are up at the cabin I hope it is fun! Can you believe I will be home for the next 4th of July? crazy.. I will let you know about Mike and Adam when they will get home and stuff they emailed me and told me but I haven't looked yet! I'm really excited for those recipes! Thanks a ton for doing them for me! We’re going to Costco right after this and were going to by a big thing of chicken so that will be awesome!! Things are going great and I'm super happy to be serving where I am!! I've been learning so much!! We found "the history of the church" and the "journal discourses" in our church in the English branch! There is so much stuff in them it is crazy! haha there are like 24 books in one set and 12 in the other I think ha so we read from them every once in a while it's been way fun! On our way to email today we stopped at the bank cause we are going shopping today and we walked out and this guy stopped us and started asking us all these questions about BYU and said that he wanted to go there!!!! haha he was going out of town but he is going to keep in touch with us! It was a huge miracle that he just saw the Book of Mormon that we were carrying and then waited outside haha we were both blown away!! So that could turn into a really golden investigator he already knew so much about our church haha! I hope everyone has a great week I love you all!

I am writing Uncle Kent an email for the Priests!! I'll send it to you too.. It's about preparing so serve a mission!!

I don't have a lot to say but I think that the most important thing you need to do to prepare to serve the Lord is to know his gospel and how to teach it!! And that is easy to do! You've all heard it a million times but it truly is the small and simple things that will lead us to be prepared, no matter what it is!! I think that daily scripture study is one of the biggest keys, and you need to know preach my gospel!! The most important thing is probably your relationship with our Heavenly Father and the Savior! and that comes through prayer! those 3 things can prepare you well. and they are so simple! do them everyday!!

I love preaching this gospel, I love living in Korea, and I love learning more and more each day of my mission! I promise you that as you prepare to serve the Lord "more happiness awaits you than you have ever experienced" (PMG) I have found the true meaning of happiness on my mission and I promise you can too! I know this is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and we are all SO blessed to be a part of it!! D&C 103:9 "they were set to be a light unto the world, and to be the saviors of men" I love this scripture! We as members of the church truly are the standard to the world. And as missionaries we are called to be the "Saviors of men" to all who will receive Christ’s restored gospel! I hope you all can prepare well for the best decision you will ever make in you lives!

Elder Frei

This week was another awesome week here in Korea!! It went so good!! I went on splits with the AP's this week too and that was awesome! I don't know if I told you yet but Elder Bailey is an AP and the other one is my favorite Korean in the mission!! I was on splits with the Korean! I got to go to the AP's area and I ended up being with president and his wife for the whole day it was a great experience to get to be with them and feel of their spirit! They are the best people ever and always so happy! I love being able to learn from them!!! Also on Tuesday we went on splits with a companionship in our zone and I went with Elder Doman, he is way cool! He played football at BYU so we had a lot to talk about! Haha that was super fun! Ha he hasn't been out very long it's always weird to be with young missionaries cause I still feel like I am one! but ya so the typhoon season is back again it came a lot earlier than last year!! It has rained for 5 days straight which makes it hard to do some things but we still had a great week!! On Saturday we came to the church and our bishop had us ref some ward ball games haha that was pretty funny!! Then afterwards we went to lunch with Kristy and another member!! We ate Mexican food it was soo good I missed it so much I still do haha! We have been seeing a lot of really good things! We are teaching all the time it has been so much fun! We have some really cool people that we are teaching! We’re hoping to have another baptism really soon!! He is marrying one of the members in our ward on the 16th so we will get to go see the wedding! I'm excited for that!! Me and Elder Vanhoff are having the time of our lives!! We have another good week ahead of us then the week after that we have tons of meetings coming up so that will be fun! They are all trainings so they should be awesome!! I can't believe that June is almost over! Where did this month go?? I hope you all have a great week! I Love you!
